U11w Steeple Ashton vs CCCFC Blacks Print
Season 09/10 - Under 11 Black

A tough Start to 11 a-side football for the Colts

CCCFC U11s Blacks started their 2009/10 campaign away to Steeple Ashton.

Following a strong performance in a friendly midweek expectations were good despite knowing that Steeple Ashton had been playing at a higher level last season (something the boys will have to get used to as the season progresses) All the boys worked really hard in the 1st half and despite several goal attempts in the 1st 20 minutes - honors were even.

Unfortunately some excellent passing play & some superb goal keeping from Ashton lead to a 3-0 deficit at half time.

It was all about hard work in the 2nd half - but with the advantages of extra subs, and their tails up Ashton continued to pile on the pressure coming back with 2 Quick Goals after Half time. The Colts continued to battle well and put several moves together which got them into threatening positions. Both Ben and Nathan working hard through the midfield to create chances. Morgan & Connor dropping into defense rather than their regular forwards positions put in inspired displays to help the hard worked central pairing of Lewis and Jonny.

The hard work was eventually rewarded by 2 goals. Nathan scoring from a penalty and a Super Strike from Bradley helped raise the Colts game unfortunately it was by this point too late. Despite the result the team showed lots of promise, learnt loads, and we look forward to our next match at home to Malmesbury Youth.

End Result Steeple Ashton 8, CCCFC Blacks 2
