U11W – Dilton Rovers 1 CCCFC 5 Print
Season 09/10 - Under 11 White

Forget the Manchester Derby played at the weekend; Dilton Marsh is where the real action was....

A glorious Saturday morning watching real football full of drama including red cards and missed penalties, Castle Combe came out with all guns blazing and scored an early goal that clearly took Dilton Rovers by surprise, sadly one of their player’s frustrations got the better of him which resulted in Dilton going down to ten men in the first half.

It’s difficult to point out the “best bit’s” in this match as the whole team played superbly and in complete contrast to last Saturday’s match against Corsham where the ball only managed to find the net once despite numerous shots on goal Tuesday night’s training session clearly worked!

However I do recall Joseph’s fantastic skills on the wing who passed several players every time he had the ball and planted the ball inside the box without fail and on the odd occasion that Dilton threatened our goal the Castle Combe defence dealt with it in their stride with Tom’s right foot and Alex’s speed making light of any danger.

Thankfully Jordan was not over occupied and even managed to force a missed penalty with a little side to side move that would have put Michael Jackson to shame and broke the striker’s concentration, otherwise goals came from George (2), Lewis, Charlie and Aaron M with Harry being named as Man of the Match!

Don’t worry if your name is not here this week I will pay more attention this weekend and try and put a face to the names.

Ps. Steve has asked me to add that that the tactics were spot-on and the substitutions inspired.........
