U12 - Melksham Town Yellow 9 v CCCFC Blacks 3 Print
Season 09/10 - Under 12 Black

The ball came back from the LHS to the edge of the box where Kez received it - one touch out of his feet and it was in the moment it left his right boot. 1 - nil up after 3 minutes!

The overload in mid-field worked well for 10 minutes while the lads were still full of energy. On the break Melksham looked dangerous and scored with a strong high shot into the back of the net. Regan had no chance. 2 minutes later and they scored again. Heads went down as the goals then went in at regular intervals. 6-1 down at half time.

A change of tactics with Steven brought to right back and Joe - in his debut - at left back. Scott and Sam in the centre of defense. A bit more shape to the defense but after 36 mins we were another goal down. Sam covered well in his role as sweeper again stopping many attempted break aways. Scott was strong winning several high balls and clearing well. Steven tracked back well and was solid in the second half - not diving in. Joe was a tower of strength at left back. Nothing got passed him and his tackling was immense. Fred was strong in midfield and his wanders up front saw Clarky put through on a couple of occasions. Kez again was outstanding on the RHS of mid-field and although carrying an injury towards the end of the game, battled well. His tracking back was the reason he was given man of the match. His 2nd goal came 10 mins into the 2nd half from a ball threaded through the middle to him (despite the linesman flagging for Ryan W being off-side although not interferring with play) Kez kept his head and took the goal well. The referee over-ruled the linesman and the goal stood.

Kieron - on his debut - battled well in the middle of mid-field. Josh did well on the right side of mid-field and when he got his chin-up put some made some slide rule passes through. Ben toiled upfront and got more involved in the game towards the end of the second half.

2 of the goals were ceated down the LHS. The 1st came from a pass to Kez on the edge of the box who blasted it home from 18 yards. The 3rd was a result of a good effort from a powerful strike by Ryan W which was well saved by the Melksham keeper. Fortunately Clarky was on hand to pick up the spoils and stick the ball home from 3 yards out. Ryan W had several good efforts from darting runs - his best  effort from 18 yards out flew just over the bar. He should be pleased with his efforts which led to 2 of our goals.

A much improved performance in the 2nd half saw us lose the half 3-2. Some dodgy managerial tactics and at least 3 lucky goals from Melksham meant the score line flattered Melksham. 9 - 3 the final score.

Bring on the return game at Combe!
