Season 09/10 - Under 11 White

The Colts Make it a Sunday to Remember....

Even before kick off the Colts displayed true professionalism when asked to hold 1 minutes silence in respect for remembrance Sunday which bonded the team spirit and gave Dilton one of their hardest games of the season.

In just 5 minutes Lewis "nutmeg" Kelly won the ball from the Dilton defence turns, strike's straight at the keeper but with enough power to force it between his legs for the Colts first, 3 minutes later and Finn displayed some amazing skill by taking it around two players without the ball touching the ground and putting the ball into the danger zone for Aaron M to plant Combe's 2nd in the net.

Ellis, Adam & Alex turn on the style and demonstrate great control by pushing the ball forward with some superb passing to the feet of Finn who once again fed the ball into the danger zone this time finding George to put Combe 3-0 up. Dilton did not give up broke quickly several times in the half only to be stopped by our sure footed captain, Tom with Adam Joe & Alex in support. The last 5 minutes evened up and the Colts defense was tested for the first time but between Ryan, Lewis & Charlie the ball rarely made it past our mid-field, with just minutes to go Tom stikes a cracking free-kick to force a great save from the Dilton keeper.

The Colts come out even stronger in the second half and within minutes Charlie strikes the bar for the second time for Joe to bury the rebound in the net for our 4th goal, moments later and following a superb run from Joseph, Ryan has a great shot on goal saved displaying real pressure. Half way through the half and Ryan slips the ball through to Joseph who makes one of his legendary runs up the left wing and floats the ball in front of the goal for Aaron to secure his second goal and puts the Colts 5 goals ahead.

Jordan is kept a little busier for a while but most attempts on goal did not make it past the Colts skilled defense then a quick break and some stunning passing from Harry, Charlie & George put the Dilton goal under pressure resulting in Aaron M forcing in Combe's 6th and Aaron's "Hat-Trick" well done Aaron.

5 minutes to the end of the game and following some more great team play throughout the field with Jordan narrowly missing a great opportunity Joseph cracks the ball goal bound and scores one of the most well deserved goals of the season, With seconds to go George places a super corner straight across the face of the goal forcing the ball in with a little help from the keeper resulting in a confident 8-0 win for the Colts.

I must add that I could have written a book on this match with every single player demonstrating true team spirit it was a pleasure to see all of them play some of the best football of the season without exception, leaving Steve with a very difficult decision for man of the match.....Well Done Lads.
