U9 CCCFC 1 - 1 FC Chippenham Print
Season 09/10 - Under 9

Under 9's met local rivals Chippenham for the second time this year and as usual both teams treated parents and Coaches to another fantastic game of football. Despite being on the end of a hefty scoreline previously, Colts started brightly with Jay in defence and Alex switched to centre midfield. Joseph lined up alongside Eddie in attack and it was the latter who hit the crossbar on 6', after a goalmouth scramble. Chippenham went ahead shortly after against the run of play, with a brilliantly struck freekick off the crossbar from Kyle, giving Sebastian no chance. This only spurred the boys in black and white on and in the 13 minute, Eddie shot wide after player of the month Jimmy, showed great awareness with the through ball. On 17', skipper Matthew went close with a volley from a Joseph corner but the equaliser was always coming and a minute later Eddie went through and finished clinically after intercepting a throwout. The drama didn't stop there and deep into first half injury time, Cain nearly put Chippenham ahead again, with an audacious bicycle kick from a corner which rattled the woodwork and so the teams went into the break all square at 1-1. During the interval, James replaced Joseph but despite another 20 minutes of superb attacking play from both sides, honours remained even. Credit to Jay and Alex who adapted to their new roles in a different system and to both sets of players, who did both Clubs and Managers proud, with the spirit in which they contested the match.

MoM. Eddie, lead the forward line superbly and chased everything for the cause. Good finish for his goal.
