U9 CCCFC 0 - 1 Melksham Town Youth Saints Print
Season 09/10 - Under 9

Under 9's played Melksham Town Youth on Saturday for the first time and were on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline. Colts started well and Matthew went close in the 4th minute but his shot was turned wide. Joseph lined up alongside Charlie in attack and his corner was agonizingly close to going in on 7', as recent Player of the Month Jimmy was lurking with intent at the farpost. Despite not being at the top of their game, 9's were creating good opportunities but had to thank Sebastian, who came off his line well, 2 minutes later to narrow the angle and the Melksham forward's shot shaved the post. On 17', Joseph controlled a clearance, well outside the area but his shot was held by the keeper and 2 minutes later, Matthew's header from a James cross went just wide. Sebastian saved bravely on the stroke of halftime to see the teams go in level at the break 0-0. Dan's long effort on 29 minutes went close to being turned in by Charlie but Colts were punished for missing chances when a goalmouth scramble 2 minutes later ended in the games only goal. Tom made some great tackles in defence and despite Alex being pushed into midfield and Eddie coming on for Charlie in search of an equaliser, the goal just wouldn't come.

Mom- Sebastian for brave saves and safe hands. Not for the first time this season, the opposing team's manager has complimented the Colt's custodian on a fine display.
