Colts take control but miss the target....

The sun was shining and their was certainly a "spring" in Castle Combes step as they took control of the game from the off.

The Colts displayed some great attacking play with George, Aaron, Finn & Joeseph putting constant pressure on the Corsham defence and with some superb play from the mid-fielders Harry, Alex, Aaron & Jo the ball was kept well away from the Colts defence.

Despite our fast pace and skillful passes Corsham took full opportunity of a quick break and caught Tom, Adam & Ryan off guard forcing Tom out of the goal mouth and leaving Ryan to clear the ball off the line, only for Corsham to score minutes later.

The colts remained confident and the Corsham keeper was put to the test several times with the best effort coming seconds from the end of the first half from a corner ball from Tom which Joseph put just wide.

The Colts remained dominant throughout the second half with a cracking shot from Finn being pushed just over the bar and a marginal off-side decision putting a stop to a cracking run from Harry.

A great effort from the Colts and a result that I am sure left the Corsham squad feeling slightly relieved.
