Under 9's Black - Malmesbury Tournament Print
Season 09/10 - Under 9

U9's Black played their final tournament at Malmesbury and despite some solid defending lost their opening game to Welsh side Caerphilly and not for the first time this year, Colts seem to be smaller than the opposition. A much improved performance in the second match, where Charlie and Jamie's excellent movement up front went unrewarded and saw Colts denied a point, with a fine lob towards the end against Broad Town. Malmesbury Red provided the opposition for the next match and U9's played some fine football, with Tom and Joshua F pulling the strings in Midfield and supplying the ammunition for Charlie and Jamie upfront. Only heroics from the Malmesbury 'keeper kept the Colts out as the score finished 0-0 and left the boys with the challenge of upsetting the hosts "A" team in the final group game. A goal in each half from Malmesbury ended the Blacks hopes of getting through despite a brilliant effort in goal from Alec; Dan and Joshua B's tough tackling and fine passing from defence the highlight. Well done to all the boys involved, have a great Summer and we'll see you all next Season, hopefully a wee bit taller! (Paul)
