The lads took their promising display from last week and turned it into a fantastic win against our neighbours from Stanley Pk. This was against all the odds as we could only field a bare 9 - but this only seemed to focus our resolve.

Out of adversity - 9 heroes emerged!

Chippenham played good football but - apart from clouting the crossbar from a freekick - failed to create a massive number of chances. Those shots that did come in were well dealt with by our excellent keepers Archie and Tom. The blues were kept out by eager defending from a combination of Max, Toby, Tom and Felix. Jayden played a skippers role by dropping in to wherever he could see danger coming from and snuffing it out. Alex, JJ and Ben also patrolled the midfield being disciplined and strong - but at this stage it was laregly a rear-guard action.

Archie played the second half up front and provided some real focus to our offensive play - it changed from damage limitation to 'actually we could win this'! Twice he was played in behind the Chippenham defence, twice he stayed in front of them with a combination of strength and no little pace (!), and once he finished with an arrow like shot into the top corner from 18 yards. We wont talk about the other chance!.

We then held on superbly for a great victory.

We have talked about 'growing up' and doing it 'for your mate'. This match showed the lads had listened. It also showed that sometimes, sometimes if you work hard, you get your just desserts. 

Man of the Match - ALL 9 (with a  special mention for Felix who stayed on there even though he could hardly walk).
