CCCFC V Swindon Rangers match report Print

Castle Combe v Swindon Rangers
Colts gave a convincing performace in their first league match. An own goal after great Freddie cross opened the scoring before a great low shot from Joel found the target. Still in first quarter, James scored after a great cross from Sam and set up from Joel. Joel banged it in after good build up play. At half time,  Freddie ran through and cracked it in.
After changes after first quarter Combe passed quicker but didn't finish their chances.
Some sloppy defending allowed Rangers to score. Combe responded with Will slotting it home after a great passing. Will scored another with a superb long shot. Joel dribbled and set up James, who finished.
There were superb saves from Nick in between after he had some hard shots saved well playing earlier in midfield. After Sam smacked it home after great work from Will.
A great through ball from Freddie left Will and then James to tap it in. Finally a wonderful through ball from Sam set up James for his fourth. Special mentions to Cole, Harrison, Kwaku and Seby who got better and better playing offside as a unit. Matty played some lovely passes and set up numerous attacks.
Overall a very pleasing win! It was especially pleasing to see the boys keeping their shape and passing going against a weaker opposition. Well done the Colts!
