U11s v Trowbridge Town Print

Match report
Castle Combe Colts U11s v Trowbridge Town ( cup) on 29th January 2017.

Colts had an absorbing match against very strong opposition. We started very well, creating chances down both wings, especially with Freddie and Joel linking up.
Clever through balls and finishing from Trowbridge saw then score twice but Matty got us back in the game with a splendid left foot curled shot. Unfortunately we didn't clear from a corner and Trowbridge added a third. Despite this CCCFC continued to fight hard, with James scoring from a speedy run and shot from down the wing before half-time.
Our back four worked very well nearly all game to contain them, with a great partnership developing between Seby and Cole in the middle of defence, and Will and Kwaku, as well as Sam being solid in their wing back roles.
Matty continued to drive us forward, while Ollie worked hard on the left; but again despite chances, the game went away from us towards the end as we chased the game, and despite some great saves from Bailey. The Colts scored the final goal of the game after a fine run and finish from Will, who was Man of the Match.

Overall we were delighted with the performance. We just need to be more clinical in front of goal, taking our chances better, as well as looking for those through balls to the strikers like Trowbridge did.
We now will be in the subsidiary cup so keep up the fantastic effort boys in our new competition.
