Colts U11s Match Report v Ferndale (26th March) Print

Match report v Ferndale on 26th March ( home)

Castle Combe Colts U11

Matty scored in the first half with a left foot strike after a set up from James.
Freddie ran through and charged down the keeper and it rebounded in.
In between we had some great goalkeeping from Will who kept us in the game. Together with this was some great defending from Harrison who was Man of the Match.
In the 2nd half Matty scored another cracker from the edge of the area.
Finally James chased a lost cause but was rewarded with a goal with a cool finish.

Also the defending was much better with Kwaku playing well as the last defender and Seby, Cole and Harrison all keeping their shape more. Sam also impressed in goal, especially with his long kicks! Brandon was busy on both flanks too! The Colts certainly passed it quicker, defended goal kicks, and were looking for those through balls more, plus we headed the ball better!
Overall one of our best performances of the season- well done!

Things to improve on:
-We still had chances to hit the space behind the defenders either passing down the wing or a clever pass through the middle.
-Passing still needs to be quicker- against the top teams we must do this!
