MWL U9 Zone D - CCCFC Blacks v Trowbridge Town Warriors Print

Lovely morning for football as we faced the Warriors of Trowbridge Town FC.

The most well matched game we've had this season - very well officiated by Charlie.

The Warriors were brilliant, especially their goalkeeper - who pulled off a series of great saves.

The Blacks were equally brilliant, the goals coming from Oliver, Riley & Ruben.

Some encouraging team play and stand out defending from Thomas, Ruby & Scarlet.

Otis, Ruben, Oliver & Riley linked up very well in midfield & attack.

Thanks to the support from the Warriors & Blacks fans.  And thank you to Tim for his fantastic photos.

MWL U9 Trophy Event Print

Very good display from the Blacks in the three group games.

Riley K - great saves when called upon, even getting caught up in the net didn't deter him.

Scarlet - really impressive start to her football career.  Positional awareness beyond her years.

Thomas - led the team superbly and pressed the opposition as instructed.

Ruby - all action, covered every fake blade of the 3G.  Made some brilliant recovery tackles.

Otis - attack the right wing with pace and skill before unleashing some powerful strikes - 2 goals

Oliver - great dribbling skills and got his head up to make some incisive passes - 4 goals

Riley - great skills and work ethic, was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet today

Ethan - two great finishes, led the line and always found space up top - 2 goals

Great support from the Blacks family as always.

Get well soon Harry & Ruben!

MWL U9 Zone D - CCCFC Blacks v Chippenham Town Blues Print

We faced our friends from Chippenham Town Blues in a competitive game at the home of football.

The Blues have vastly improved since we met them twice last year.  They played good football and I'm sure will have a good season.

The goalscorers for the Blacks were Ruben, who bravely slotted home the opener.  In doing so, he injured his knee and played no more part in the game.  Hopefully, he's a quick healer and is back out on the field again soon.

Riley N despatched a penalty high into the top corner after his original shot had been handled on the line by a defender.

Oliver added two well taken goals in the second half.

Riley K was excellent between the sticks and couldn't get near the Blues goals.  He was again well served by Ruby & Scarlet infront of him - both were great.

Otis's dribbling skills were on display and Harry had a good debut for the Blacks.

Ethan battled hard and showed good leadership skills after we lost our skipper Ruben early on.

There was great support from both sets of supporters....and lovely cake & bacon rolls :)

MWL U9 Zone D - Derry Hill Blaze v CCCFC Blacks Print

Blacks started 2016-17 away to Derry Hill Blaze at Bowood Sports Ground.

A promising first match of 7v7 football, we quickly got used to the extra space and used our pacey & tricky wingers Otis & Ruben to full affect.

Riley K had a solid defence in front of him, made up of Thomas, Scarlet, who skippered the side on her debut and her sister Ruby. Great team performance from our defensive unit.

Oliver continues to impress in midfield, as does Riley N up top.

Goals were spread, which was pleasing – Riley N & Ruby, with braces from Ruben & birthday boy Otis.

Great support as always from the Blacks Ultras and great credit to Derry Hill Blaze for an enjoyable match.

U9B - FC Chippenham Pre-Season (2016/17) 6-a-side Tournament Print

Some great performances by the Blacks on Sunday – knocked out in the Quarter Finals by a single goal in the last minute to Melksham Town Youth.

Riley K made some great saves (as usual!) and had an amazing defence infront of him – made up of Scarlet, Ruby & Thomas.
