U9 Trowbridge Town B 1 - 4 CCCFC Print
Season 09/10 - Under 9

Under 9's put in their best performance of the season in the top of the table clash away to Trowbridge Town B this Saturday. The boys signalled their intent from the kick-off, with some fantastic quick passing and movement that nearly resulted in a goal within 10 seconds, however, the Trowbridge 'keeper was alert and made the first of many vital blocks. Joseph replaced skipper Jimmy in the centre of midfield on 10 minutes and broke the deadlock on 18 when volleying in at the near post from a superb cross from wing-wizard Luca. On the stroke of half time the Number 10 then added to the tally with a low strike from inside the box and the Colts went into the break with a deserved 2-0 lead. On 22 minutes, Joshua ran onto a pass from Joseph and drilled a low shot from 20 yards into the bottom corner and although he made way for Tom to make his first start of the campaign, he has formed a solid defensive partnership with Alex. James, who replaced centre forward Eddie, nearly added another in the 27th minute but his effort from an acute angle clipped the crossbar and was only denied a minute later with another instinctive save from the inspired Trowbridge goalie. He could do nothing about the lob from Jimmy on 33 minutes to make it 4-0 and although the team blotted their copybook by allowing a last minute consolation goal, it would be harsh to criticize the boys after a fine team display. Well done also, to goalie Sebastian, who battled through the pain barrier to play today.

MoM-  after todays display, it was difficult to single out one player, however, James just edges it
with another intelligent performance as lone striker.
