u7: CCCFC v Worton & Cheverell Print
Season 10/11 - Under 7

The under-7s made a cracking start to life in the Mid Wilts League when Worton & Cheverell visited Castle Combe on Sunday.

Worton were excellent and sporting opponents and proved more than a match for the Colts, rattling the crossbar with a powerful long-range free-kick early on.

Joe was a hugely influential figure up front and, after peppering the Worton goal, finally broke the deadlock before rapidly adding three more to his tally before half-time. When he left the action early in the second period, he had a double hat-trick to his name.

Max was also on the scoresheet and it was fitting that Luke, whose fine all-round display saw him star both in goal and at the back, rounded off the Colts' scoring with a determined solo effort.

It was far from one-way traffic, though, and Worton gave the travelling supporters plenty to cheer. They scored the last goal of an entertaining contest right on the final whistle.

And their tally would have been greater had it not been for the efforts of Colts' four keepers, Luke, Tom, Josh and George. Josh and captain-for-the-day Bradley produced a series of great tackles, while James and Matty were always a threat in attack.
