As expected the Blacks exited the cup at the first hurdle after being drawn against thier lofty opponents. What couldn't have been expected however was the way our lads battled and defended like their lives depended on it as well as being audacious enough to carve out 3 or 4 goalscoring opportunities themselves.

The fast, physical and skillful opponents did manage to score 11 without reply but that honestly does not tell the whole story of the game. Far from being despondent, our lot knew that they did themselves proud and that it will stand them in good stead when we return to league football. Jasper flung himself around the goal performing heroics, Dan and skipper for the day Tom made tackle after tackle whilst Heather and Jacob ran themselves into the ground. It was not just a rearguard action though and Charlie, Josh F, Jamie and Harry genuinely provided moments of slick incisive passing carving out those chances.
