On an unseasonably gorgeous January morning the U8's resumed their season after a 2 month break - thanks to Pete for getting the pitch back to such a great condition - with 2 games against Bradford.

Understandably there was some rustiness, but the Whites soon settled into a good rhythm of pass and move. In a very close encounter, the game largely revolved around - could Combe make their possession count, or could the visitors make their quick breakaways count more? Will 'the machine' whistled in 2 great goals and Louie and Jack came really close to adding to the tally. JoeN put in a really promising performance on his debut and of course was ably assisted by the likes of Ben, Jayden, Dan, Zac, Jude and Alex.

When it came to the Blacks game, the passing and level of possession was even more evident. Bradford were still determined in the tackle and powerful on the break however, and were very worthy adversaries. JoeP dinked in a lovely goal whereas Josh and Archie combined for what - in my opinion - was the goal of the season so far. A rehearsed cross and header routine which came off beautifully. Ollie, Rory, Tom, Darryl and Nick have every reason to be proud of their performance but I have to give a special mention to Toby (none shall pass) at the back.
