CCCFC 1 Chippenham Tn 3

We hosted the team who have spent the whole year at the top of the table and ran them very very close. The first half was a very even affair, in which Charlie headed narrowly wide and the imperious Dan struck the crossbar with a 20 yard free kick. It took a freak incident to give Chippenham their one goal lead (which is how it ended at half time) - Dan caught a clearance in the sweet spot only to see it slam into the back of the head of one of the Chippenham players, and bounce to their centre forward in front of the goal. He couldnt miss that time but Jasper and JoshB did so well to repeatedly repel the raiders in blue.

In the second half and with the slope - our lads took the game by the scruff of the neck and deservedly equalised through a one-two involving Jamie and Dan. Dan slammed the ball home to go to the top of the goalscorer chart (not bad for a defender). Ben came on to help at the back and started linking up well with Harry and Josh F. We were creating chance after chance and trying sooooooooo hard. In the last 5 minutes I think the amount of effort caught up with us - allowing Chippenham to score two goals at the death and take the points back along the A420. One of our best ever performances - well done. Get well soon Heather from all the boys.
