U7: Melksham Utd v CCCFC Print
Season 10/11 - Under 7
The Colts continued their impressive form in the Melksham mud, where Matthew R topped the scoring charts with seven goals in the second of two fixtures with the hosts at Aloeric School.
It was the second time in a fortnight the two sides had met and a sporting Melksham side did well to keep the visitors at bay in a tight start to the first match. Joe made the breakthrough with the first of a fine brace and Max ended up with a hat-trick. George found the corner of the net with a fine finish and the hard-working Matty S followed up a number of assists with a deserved second-half strike. Josh and Tom shone in defence and James gave a typically powerful display.
Matthew set the tone for the second match with a very early opener but it was far from a one-man show and Bradley and Darragh were rewarded for some fantastic support play with excellent goals of their own. Theo’s trademark tough tackling halted many Melksham attacks and William did well at both ends of the pitch. Brandon showed great vision and was unlucky not to score and Alex and Jacob put in some good challenges. Melksham kept battling though and managed to find a way past keeper Tom, who made a couple of great saves after taking over between the posts.
