Season 10/11 - Under 10 Black

The scoreline honestly doesnt reflect the balance of the game in this case. If it weren't for a crazy 5 minutes in the middle of the first half where our guys wilted, and became befuddled with wave after wave of pacy attacks - it would have been a very even affair. Jasper performed heroics in goal and should not feel disheartened after this game where we came up against a very good attacking unit. We were missing Josh B our most natural defender and at times it showed.

Jamie put us in front early in theĀ first half with a well taken goal - this should have been the time we pushed on and put our hosts under pressure - but we didnt.

Skipper for the day Warwick made some telling tackles and Heather seemed to have the knack of stemming the tide when she was at the back. Harry played in defence in the second half and took to it so well that I am naming him Man of the Match. We need to do some work on defending as a unit rather than individuals though. Dan proved his worth when pushed into midfield and curled in a delightful 20 yarder in the second half to give the team an inkling that a come back was on - but it was not to be. It seems that out of adversity that we may have hit upon a new team shape that gives us optimism for the rest of the season. Josh F and Charlie both came very close to great goals (Charlie volleying against the post) but it was not to be our day. Hey ho.
