One half of the under-7s squad faced both an improved Worton & Cheverell outfit and the challenge of a huge pitch at West Lavington. While the home side used the wide open spaces better and taught the talented Colts side a thing or two about team play, the visitors were not to be denied in an exciting encounter that saw plenty of action at both ends. Colts finished the game very strongly and to their credit showed an increasing willingness to pass and find space as the contest wore on. Max bagged a brace and was inches away from registering another hat-trick, while Matthew R and Matty S notched the game’s first and last goals respectively. Joe turned provider on this occasion with a couple of great assists, George and James battled hard and Luke and Josh shared the goalkeeping and defensive duties with aplomb. |
