U7: AFC Corsham v CCCFC Print
Season 10/11 - Under 7
The goals may not have flowed as readily as they have in recent weeks but the under-7s produced a couple of performances to be proud of against AFC Corsham at Leafy Lane.
Some of the Colts’ teamwork was excellent against a well-organised home side and unselfish build-up play from in both matches led to a succession of chances.
Joe fired in a fantastic opener in the first game but the visitors came up against an outstanding Corsham keeper after that and had to be patient. They were eventually rewarded when Matty S produced an effort that was too hot to handle following a great pass from Joe. Max then finished emphatically after Luke showed great vision to pick him out at the far post.
The team kept their shape well and keeper Bradley was protected well by Josh, James and Tom, who all contributed fully to a fine display.
Matthew R’s influential performance in an entertaining second game was rewarded with a superb late goal – with a pre-planned celebration to match! He was supported well by Bradley in attack, while George and William covered plenty of grass to help out at both ends of the field. Max’s safe hands saw him keep a clean sheet between the posts and he was assisted by Theo, who tackled ferociously at the back. Midfielders Alex and Jacob helped keep Corsham at bay with important interceptions.
