A difficult game in what can only be described as monsoon conditions were experienced at Castle Combe sportsfield when the colts welcomed visitors Worton & Cheverall.

Worton made a fine start and deservedly took the lead, the colts bounced back with an equaliser when Jimmy headed a terrific goal from Matthew's corner. Unfortunately Worton regained the lead also with a headed goal from a corner, just before half time the score was 3-1 as we allowed a Worton player too much time and space to take his shot.

The conditions improved in the 2nd half, but the colts were finding it difficult to break through the Worton defence, it took some fine goalkeeping from Jasper to ensure that the only goal of the half went to Worton courtesy of a very unfortunate own goal.
