On a day of 'mixed weather' - monsoon rain/bright sun/high wind - the lads took on our rivals from Melksham in what was to prove to be a tough fixture. In the first half the guys created chance after chance only to be thwarted by the visiting keeper. Towards the end of the half we achieved the breakthrough. Will pirouetted in the center circle and struck a perfect ball out to Joe, almost immediately the ball was spearing in to Louie - instant control and an unerring finish later, the perfect goal was scored.

The defensive unit of Tom, Toby, Alex and Jayden had little to do in the first half but were to earn their beans in the second. Almost immediately after the whistle Melksham scored - it was looking like we were in trouble. The midfield of Will and Josh (both outstanding), Joe and Zac then got a grip on the game and we started creating chances again. This culminated in another excellent goal - the ball zipping across the pitch with pass after pass ending with Archie slamming the ball into the net. Zac was by now in goal and helped us get through to the end - although hearts were in mouths again when our visitors struck the bar. Well done guys.
