U8: CCCFC v AFC Corsham Print
Season 11/12 - Under 8
Two tremendous team performances yielded a hatful of goals for the under-8s when they entertained AFC Corsham in their first home fixtures of the season.
The Whites, who had newcomer Josh M making his debut, were quickly into their stride and the deadly duo of Joe and Matty were again clinical in front of goal. Joe ended up with seven goals and Matty scored six, with both players also setting up a series of chances through some unselfish play and clever movement.
James joined the pair on the scoresheet with a typically powerful finish. Brandon and Rowan shared the goalkeeping duties and both kept clean sheets. The pair also impressed when they played further up the pitch, as did the ever-reliable Josh R and Jacob in defence.
The Blacks, meanwhile, really clicked as an attacking unit and the goals that had been in short supply a week previously flowed almost from the first whistle. George set the ball rolling with an early hat-trick and, after a few sighters, Bradley found his range before going on to score four. Midfield maestros Luke and captain Matthew drove the team on and claimed hat-tricks of their own, while Max’s powerful running saw him hit the net five times.
Some of the interplay was wonderful to watch and Daniel – who also had a stint in goal – Caleb and Alex all played a full part in a terrific display.
Our sporting visitors from Corsham emerged with great credit too, playing with a smile on their faces throughout both games. They were rewarded for their efforts with a fine second-half strike against the Blacks that brought cheers from both sets of supporters.
