U11 CCCFC 5 v 1 Derry Hill (cup) |
Season 11/12 - Under 11 |
CCCFC welcomed Derry Hill to Castle Combe in the first round of the league cup. The game was very even until Dan broke the deadlock with a fine finish after 15mins, within 2 mins of the colts taking the lead Derry Hill equalised with a great shot from outside the box that left Jasper with no chance. The 2nd half was more of the same with the colts having good possession, but were unable to find a way past the Derry Hill keeper, who had an excellent game, Jasper was certainly the less busy goalie and was never really troubled thanks to the good defensive work of Alex (capt), Josh B, Warwick & Heather. Extra time was needed and the colts showed great spirit and fitness as their football improved during the extra time periods. The 2nd goal eventually came when Charlie latched onto a loose ball in the area and showed great composure to side foot the ball into the corner. This goal proved to be the turning point in the game as the colts were now really going for it and were not going to settle with only 2 goals, Eddie scored the 3rd with a fine run & finish, after a great passing move involving Dan, Jamie and finally James who also notched the 4th, in the final minutes Eddie scored his 2nd and the colts 5th when he ran half the length of the pitch to slot the ball past the advancing keeper. Thanks to Paul McGettigan for being linesman or is it assistant referee ?? Man of the match: Eddie - Super finishing. Next Game - Warminster (Home) County Cup - Sunday 16th Oct ko 2pm |
