Saturday 8th October. CCCFC BLK 2 vs AFC Corsham Leopards 3
The first friendly of the season took place at Castle combe on Saturday and what a match it was. The blacks played against AFC Corsham Leopards managed by our Adrian's (or Rory's dad as he is better known), cousin - Mr. Steve Hancock. So with bragging rights up for grabs, the game was evenly match and we went in to the break only a goal down. In our last match we were a goal down at half time only to ship six in the second half - but not this time! The lads managed a great comeback to bring the game deservedly back it two all through goals by Rory and Nick - and then continued pressing for a winner with eight minutes left on the clock. Chances came for both teams and Joe Parsons was simply superb in our goal making several excellent saves to keep us level. It looked as if we were heading for a draw which was a fair result overall but Corsham Leopards snatched victory with a deflected goal with what turned out to be the last kick of the match. A big well done to all our players. Mark, Trevor and I are all very proud of your determination and progress.
