U8: AFC Corsham v CCCFC Print
Season 11/12 - Under 8
Eleven different players got their names on the scoresheet when the under-8s squad travelled to AFC Corsham for two matches.
Both the Blacks and the Whites again demonstrated what good sides they are and some of the teamwork and passing on show was a joy to watch for the travelling supporters at Leafy Lane.
Matthew set the tone for the morning when he cracked home an early long-distance opener for the Blacks. He went on to complete a hat-trick , while midfield maestro George and Caleb both struck in each half. Max and captain Luke did their defensive duties well while also hitting the target at the other end, with the latter’s superb run and cross laying on a goal for Bradley. Dan did not allow Corsham to pass with some strong challenges and Alex played his part in support of the attack.
Tom had a debut to savour with four fantastic finishes in the Whites’ match. His confident haul was matched by Brandon, who produced a couple of thumping efforts – a just reward for some unselfish play in recent weeks. Rowan came out of goal to score from close range in the second half and Matty and Joe, despite operating in deeper roles for much of the game, still managed to add three and one respectively to their impressive tallies for the season. Captain Josh R, who pressed forward in search of a first goal late on, Luca and Josh M all helped to break up Corsham’s attacks with some fine tackling.
