U8: Chippenham Tn v CCCFC Print
Season 11/12 - Under 8
The under-8s squad made the short trip to their home from home – the superb 3G pitch at Stanley Park – to take on Chippenham Town Youth in two friendly matches.
Matthew R pounced on a weak clearance to rifle home the opening goal for the Blacks – a just reward for a sustained spell of first-half pressure that brought a series of chances.  George, Luke, Bradley and Caleb all played their part in a fine passing display and Max took full advantage of some great build-up play with four lethal second-half finishes.  A tall and talented Chippenham side always looked dangerous going forward in a see-saw affair but Daniel was a real tower of strength at the back and both Max and George, who shared the goalkeeping duties, made some excellent saves.
The Whites poured forward at will in their game and Joe made it a half-century of goals for the season with six superb strikes. Brandon showed great determination to add his name to the scoresheet and Matty S, who was a constant menace, also found the target. James also went close in a powerful performance and Luca was always lively. The ever-reliable Josh R ensured keeper Rowan had a quiet morning before deservedly side-footing home the decisive penalty in the post-match shootout.
