U8: CCCFC v Chippenham Town Print
Season 11/12 - Under 8
The under-8s pitted their wits against Chippenham Town Youth for the third time this season and saved their best until last – delivering two excellent team performances to make their coaches and parents proud.
Matty S was ‘loaned’ to the Blacks’ line-up for the morning and marked the occasion with the opening goal of a tight first half following a great run and cross by Tom. Some brave goalkeeping from the fearless Max denied Town and the other end, with Daniel and Luke also producing the goods with solid displays in defence and midfield.
The energetic George ended the game with a deserved double after showing a very cool head to convert two second-half chances, while Josh M kept battling away and made some important tackles.
The Whites also had a couple of ‘new recruits’ in their ranks but showed plenty of willingness to pass the ball and created a string of chances as a result. Josh R again defended well but also claimed an assist for the first goal when his pinpoint ball from the back was smashed home by an in-form Bradley, who went on to score four times.
Matthew R, back to full fitness, combined well with newcomer Toby in the engine room and found the net twice. James’ long legs took him clear of the Town defence a few times and he also scored with a long-range bullet into the bottom corner.  Keepers Rowan and Luca showed their versatility by making key contributions both in and out of goal.
