Season 11/12 - Under 9 Blacks & Whites

Whilst not playing the fluent football we pride ourselves on, the lads proved their appetite for a battle in a tough game against our friends from Bath at an amazingly clement Lansdown today.

In an even first half - the guys carved out a few half chances for Archie but the defence of Joe, Jay and Toby were well to the fore keeping our hosts at bay. Joshw, Josh, Will and Louie dug in at the midfield stage with relish. Rory and Tom came on to add energy to our attacking threat but we reached the break in stalemate.

With Archie unbeatable in goal and Zacs thrust added to the midfield we began to take control in the second period. Louie was carrying the ball in his usual inimitable way and it was from one of these runs that the ball broke to Tom who expertly found the corner of the net. The Blues obviously felt they had to force the issue as in one particular attack they committed all their outfield players forward - Archie grabbed the ball in goal and immediately found Louie who had Zac and Tom for company in the Larkhall box but not a defender in sight! The initial chance was thwarted well by the keeper but the ball broke to Tom who found the same corner of the net as his previous goal to clinch the match and the MOM award.

Well done guys.
