What an exciting way to finish the season with a terrific away win. Melksham scored first after only 2mins with a looping shot that gave Jasper no chance. Alec showed a great touch and awareness to set Joshua off on a lung busting run down the left wing, he just kept going and displayed great composure with a neat finish for the equaliser. The colts started moving the ball around on the large pitch, James. Matthew, Joseph & Joshua were now dominating the midfield areas and it wasn't long before Eddie was on the end of a through ball to score the 2nd goal, the colts 3rd goal and Eddie's 2nd soon followed when he shot early from just inside the box. The defence of Heather (capt), Harry, Alex & Tom along with Jasper in goal ensured the colts enjoyed a 3-1 lead at half time.

Unfortunately the colts forgot to start the 2nd half and it wasn't long before Melksham had turned the game on its head by scoring 3 goals to lead 4-3, but the colts showed a great fighting spirit and immediately hit back, a fine run by Matthew set up a chance for Eddie's hat trick and he made no mistake with a great shot that went in off the bar, with time rapidly running out the colts put in one last effort. Eddie chased a long clearance that he had no right to win with the head start that the defender had, but win it he did and then he laid the ball back to James who even at this late stage of the game had the energy to jink past a defender before unleashing a left foot shot into the bottom right hand corner of the goal, there was only enough time remaining for Melksham to re-start before the ref ended the game. A great game and all 14 players displayed a tremendous desire not to give up. Well done to all.
