U9 Orange Division: CCCFC Whites 9 Trowbridge Wands Albion 0 Print
Season 12/13 - Under 9 Black & White
The Whites started their Mid-Wilts League campaign with a bang, scoring seven times in an impressive second-half performance to wrap up a comfortable victory over Trowbridge Wanderers Albion.
Colts looked slightly tentative playing up the Combe slope in the first period, although they forced a succession of corners and took a 2-0 lead into the break. Luke broke the deadlock when his powerful free-kick found its way through a crowded area and past the heroic  Wanderers keeper, before Bradley showed good composure to slot home the second with his weaker right foot.
Toby was always a threat with his trickery and crossing from the left but Colts did not have it all their own way and Max made one fantastic save, tipping a long-range Wanderers effort onto the crossbar.
Max proved even more effective when he moved to the other end of the pitch after the interval, with a clinical front-running display leading to a five-goal personal haul that included some terrific finishes.
Matthew created a hatful of chances with his dribbling skills and range of accurate passing and grabbed the goal he deserved from an acute angle. Bradley and George probed well on the flanks, with the latter unfortunate not to add his name to the scoresheet.
Tom rounded off the scoring and formed a great defensive partnership with the excellent Josh, who, along with second-half keeper Toby, ensured the hosts finished with a clean sheet.
