This was a great game between two well matched teams. The result was in the balance right up to the very last kick of the game.....

The first minute of the game was quite important too, as our visitors took advantage of a Combe side still rubbing sleepydust out of their eyes! 1-O down in the first minute is never good, but our lads went on to dominate possession without carving out really clear cut chances.  Our passing game was going well and pressure told when Septembers player of the Month Jayden swept the ball in from some 15 yards. Tom was having a good game in goal and extended that in the second half in a defensive position with a great display. Toby, JJ, Zac and Joe were also doing really well. Nick and Archie battled away up front but things were not dropping for them.

DH's dribbling game was also getting results though, through the two dangermen they fielded in midfield, and they were to take the lead early in the second half. At this point Rory was tugging at my sleeve on the sideline saying "put me on I want to score a goal for my Dads birthday" - so I did, and he did. Fair play! That looked like being it - a draw being probably a fair result - until the team in Orange nicked it in the last minute. We have to look at fitness guys - more running Wednesday, Im afraid.!
