Bad Day at Office for U10s Print
Season 12/13 - Under 10 Black & White

CCCFC Black 0 Chippenham Tn Yellow 8

A slightly deceptive score line in which they scored 4 goals in 5 minutes at the very end as we had so many players forward, trying to get that much deserved goal. Sadly it backfired, with Town scoring on the break, and leaving a score sheet which did not quite ring true.

We are still far too sluggish out of the blocks and started the match as though we had just got out of bed, and this led to 2 goals in the first few minutes, only then did we get into the game, not conceding again in the first half. At least this week we had many shots actually on target, either hitting the bar or just over the bar. Their goal keeper also seemed to have the game of his life, clearing off the line on more than one occasion.

In the second half we committed the cardinal sin of conceding a goal within the first minute. A little more concentration and these elementary errors will stop.
Good also to see we kept at it and our heads did not drop, and for a majority of the second half was played in their half. Though sometimes when scoring opportunities appeared we did look like the proverbial rabbit in the car headlight.

Joe, Ben and Josh were spirited up front, really getting used to playing together now. Hopefully next week they will find the back of the net. Henry and Jude in midfield stood their ground, and Alex at the back was Herculian. Dan made some important interceptions as last man, but Daryl must be my man of the match, as he was everywhere, from clearing off the line to making accurate long range shots at goal.  Everyone keep their heads up as it WILL come right.

Larkhall 3 CCCFC White 0

Another sluggish start gave our hosts the clue that we werent about to carry on with the dominance we have shown against our friends from Larkhall in recent times. A slight slope was working against us as well in the first half  - but to be honest it looked like our guys were treating this as a bit of a park kick about (not a league game). Only the ball carrying of Rory was able to get us in to threatening positions.

Jayden and Rory were two shining lights of the determination and will to win that we need to find across the squad if we are to enjoy ourselves at this level of football. Joe, JJ, Zac and Tom also tried but it was not quite running for us. Going into halftime at 1-0 we definitely had a good chance to grab a result. Archie looked dangerous on a couple of occasions, Nick started finding colleagues with passes and Toby was throwing himself into the game. Two late goals were harsh on us - but we didnt deserve anything from the game.

Time to regroup - decide whether we want to compete or just have a pleasant kick-about and go again guys.

MOM - Two were close but Im going to give it to Rory
