U12 friendly CCCFC 3 Worton 2 Print
Season 12/13 - Under 12

The colts played a friendly this morning as we had been given a bye in the league cup, we welcomed Worton from Div 1.

We started well and should have taken an early lead when Eddie's shot just went the wrong side of the post, some of the passing and movement from Matthew and James was a joy to watch, but we couldn't find the goal we deserved. Worton soon started to get in the game and were rewarded with a goal on 15mins and they got a 2nd just before half time, a harsh scoreline, particularly as Charlie was unlucky to be judged offside after a neat chipped finish.

In the 2nd half the guys really had the bit between their teeth as they took the game to Worton, superbly driven on by James from midfield. Matthew, Jamie & Eddie never gave the Worton defence a moments peace as we searched for our goal, after a run of corners expertly taken by Dan, Alex scored his first ever goal for the colts with a terrific header, game on. The equaliser, although deserved, was a little fortunate as Eddie appeared to be offside, but he played to the whistle and scored neatly at the second attempt after the keeper had made a good save. Jasper ensured the scores stayed level with a fantastic save. Time was running out and a draw looked the likely outcome, however Matthew, James and Jamie had other ideas. Matthew laid the ball back to James who sent a wonderful low cross into the danger area and Jamie anticipated it superbly to score the winning goal. There was no time for Worton to even kick off when the ref blew for full time. A terrific performance from all 14 players, keep up the good work.

Man of the match: Matthew just shades it from James & Jamie.

Next Match: Alderbury away Sunday 21st Oct kick off 10.30am
