Season 12/13 - Under 10 Black & White
Possibly the best team display the squad has put on this year, against a team in a league above us, this display was full of heart and determination.
This week we started from the first whistle, and it took a superb effort from their centre forward to cross our goal line, the likes of which we may not see again this season!
Going into half time 2-1 down showed we can compete and hold our own, but we tired towards the end, and conceded a couple of goals which flattered them somewhat.
Things to work on, firstly to convert our chances into goals, we spent more time in their goal area than they in ours, and our forwards must work more closely together as chances were wasted when we had men over with a better chance on goal. Secondly we do concede too many goals on the break, as we have become a team that plays very forward, but it leaves us exposed at the back. Whilst Alex has been magnificent in defence, even he can't stop a three on one situation!
In goal Henry was as safe as ever and gave us a platform to work on. Alex was once again a giant, keeping them out and then driving forward.  Dante was very powerful and rose to the occasion. Joe made his usual telling passes, and was always ready to make the ball available to players in better positions. Ben kept going and really closed the opposition down, he made several crosses which our forwards could just not get hold of. Dan Wickens spun his usual magic, on another day he will find the back of the net. Jude came on and slotted in perfectly and played a very safe and mature game. Dan Sutton is really finding his feet, and improving beyond belief, his interceptions were very important today.  Finally a special mention to Daryl, our Man Of The Match for the second week running, he scored a goal, worked beautifully with Alex in defence and helped out in mid field, Well Done!

If we play like that in our league games, we will become a hard team to beat.
