Arguably the best ever performance this team has put together, against a team that knew their football we defended exceptionally well in the first half and when it was our turn to benefit from the sloping pitch in the second period, we really turned it on and made our chances.
In hitting both the inside and outside of the goal post, only to find the ball refusing to cross the line, this probably cost us a draw. But to get into those positions we played our football with vision, thought and tenacity. Never giving up on the tackle, and if a player lost the ball, they seemed to take it as a personal insult and really battled to regain possession.
If the first half belonged to Calne, then the second was most definitely ours. Though they scored on the break, we had the balance of play.
Apart from the man of the match award I am not going to comment on individual performances, as it was a massive team performance, and what I state reflects on each and every one of you. You ALL gave 100%, you all conducted yourselves in an exemplary manner and you all came off the pitch at the end with a smile. Irrespective of the result I could not have asked more.

Though lets not try to break the world record for hitting the cross bar in one season, lets try to believe a little more in our ability and that we can beat teams like today, because if we continue to improve at the current rate we will become a force in this league.

My man of the match goes to Ben. His ability to read and snuff out attacks by Calne was uncanny, and then the big grin afterwards knowing what he had just done was infectious. Well Done!
