U9 Orange Division: CCCFC Whites 7 Frome Town 1 Print
Season 12/13 - Under 9 Black & White
The Whites warmed up for a couple of key cup and league encounters with a comfortable home success over Frome Town.
Having been frustrated by the visitors’ blanket defence in last month’s reverse fixture, Colts were more composed and effective in possession this time around as they again took charge from the first whistle.
The coaches took the opportunity to rotate the squad and the home players showed their versatility, with the goals shared between five of them.
Tom bagged a hat-trick and always looked a threat, while Matthew and Luke linked superbly in midfield and both got their names on the scoresheet. George hit the bar with a tremendous effort but knew little about his goal, the ball rebounding off his face and into the net. Brandon also put the squad’s extra heading practice to good use by nodding home in the second half.
Josh relished the chance to play in a more advanced role and captain Toby made some excellent runs down the left flank. Max and Bradley did their defensive duties well in the first period, but a battling Frome side kept their heads up throughout and were rewarded with a consolation goal.
