Frustrating

The guys played really well (and exceptionally well in parts) only to concede soft goals by not working hard enough in our own box to clear the ball.

We deservedly took the lead when Archie used his strength to wriggle around 4 defenders and lash the ball in to the corner. With David making lung bursting runs from midfield and Tom and Jayden keeping things locked up at the back - there were few alarms when Melksham sneaked a goal back just before half time.

Combe carried on playing football against physically larger opponents, and one move involving slick interpassing between Nick, Zac and Jayden was absolute quality (ending in Zac hitting post). Our achilles heel flagged up again though in 3 seperate goalmouth scrambles, our visitors wanted the ball more than us and stabbed the ball in from close range.

The result was not a fair reflection of the game but will keep happening if we dont work a bit harder and become a bit braver.
