U9 Division 5: AFC Corsham Leopards 6 CCCFC Blacks 1 Print
Season 12/13 - Under 9 Black & White

A depleted Blacks side were hit for six in their opening Division 5 fixture as clinical Corsham took the spoils at a foggy Leafy Lane.
The home side succeeded where the Colts failed in taking full advantage of having the slope in their favour, with four goals in the space of about as many second-half minutes putting the game beyond reach.
A solitary Corsham goal separated the sides at the break, with the seven-man visitors unable to capitalise on a couple of excellent corners from Luke and the driving runs of Luca and Brandon from midfield.
Will deserves much credit for taking the goalkeeper’s gloves in the absence of Kyron and Rowan and was given little chance with any of the goals conceded as a free-running Corsham attack created several one-on-one opportunities.
Caleb and Sam kept battling at the heart of defence and restricted the damage with some timely interceptions and tackles. James joined them in the closing stages and ended the game with a real flourish, having the final word when he tucked away the Colts’ deserved consolation goal in the last minute.
With seven teams contesting a bumper division, there is plenty of football left between now and May. The Blacks can certainly look forward to better days once the cavalry returns.
