U10 Green Worton 0 CCCFC White 6 Print
Season 12/13 - Under 10 Black & White

The guys put on a brilliant performance on a day when they clearly fancied it more than their parents, who stood on the sidelines (with red noses) stamping their feet trying to keep warm! The firm ground and short grass seemed to suit our game as the passes zipped around.

The whole team were quite simply sensational - I have to thank Nick and Archie for doing their time in Goal and bringing back clean sheets. We wouldnt have a team, without people willing to go in goal - so fair play to them both (especially on such a cold day). Toby continued his excellent form, whereas Joe, Jayden and David took a stranglehold on the midfield. The wideboys took the eye though...

JJ kept on cutting in onto his left foot, eventually getting his just desserts by lashing in the opener with that left peg. He was then in the right place again to benefit from Nicks assist - Nick had the skill and vision to find JJs forehead by playing the ball first off the post and then onto the crossbar - inspired stuff! Zac was obviously feeling left out and joined his wing twin on the scoresheet after a 30 yd run around 5 or 6 defenders ending in a decisive finish from an acute angle. HT- 3-0

Archie came out of goal and was soon raining shots in to the Worton goal. Two fine efforts found their mark, to continue his fine recent form. Zac rounded things off by sending in a wicked cross which deflected off a defender to send the keeper the wrong way. I have so far underplayed Zacs performance - he was simply unplayable - for that reason, he edges past JJ and Jayden for the MOM award in a very high calibre competition. FT - 6-0

Well done all. I would also commend our hosts Worton - they have had a long season and continue to conduct themselves in an exemplary fashion. Great club.
