U10 Green Marshfield 1 CCCFC White 2 Print
Season 12/13 - Under 10 Black & White

Once again the lads started the game in a very slow manner, once again it took going behind to spark us into life. Once we sparked into life though,we provided an irresistible force moving towards our opponents goal.

The first half featured many a great dribble from Zac, Rory and Nick  -  too much dribbling in fact! We carved out a number of great chances but lacked the cutting edge - we were very unlucky though when Jaydens left foot volley was blocked around the post. Marshfield showed us the way to do it by springing on a counter attack - 2 well timed passes and the ball was in our net. We then realised it is better to pass like Xavi than dribble like Messi on the pitches we play on, and we started to play

In the second half Archie came out of goal to form a very menacing focus for our attack - we now started passing the ball and everyone improved by 100%. Having Joe back gave us so much security with him working with Jay and David to lock down the centre. Rory, JJ, Nick and Zac kept working the wide channels and we started looking really dangerous. In a breakaway Zac fed Arch in a 1on1, our top scorer waited for the goaly to commit himself and dinked the ball home at exactly the right moment. Zac picked up a nasty rib injury and we thought we may have to settle for a draw. In one last push though -Zac came back on and drove us forward. In a flash of brilliance archie re-enacted Gazzas goal against Scotland Euro 96. Teeing it up over the head of an onrushing defender before lasing it in on the volley. A goal worthy of winning any game.

Tom was superb again in goal - faultless display

Well done chaps

MOM = Harsh on Archie - giving it to Joe though
