U12 Amesbury 1 CCCFC 0 Print
Season 12/13 - Under 12

The colts were today involved in a terrific encounter with Amesbury. Amesbury played with the very cold wind behind them in the first half and this made it difficult to get out of out half, at times we did with Eddie using his fantastic pace to great effect on the break, but wasn't able to get a telling shot away. We were finding ourselves penned in and it took at least 3 brilliant saves from Jasper to keep the scores level. Eventually Amesbury's pressure told when one of their players rode some very soft tackles to slot the ball past a helpless Jasper. 1-0 at halftime.

An unfortunate injury to Alex meant a re-shuffle with James moving to centre back and Eddie dropping into midfield and it was these 2 along with a resurgent Matthew that took the game by the scruff of the neck to totally dominate the 2nd 30mins. I think Amesbury managed a couple of counter attacks but on every occasion Jasper was equal to the one on ones he faced. Although we were well on top the ball just wouldn't fall right to enable anyone a clear shot on goal, the closest we came was when Dan hit a shot on the run again Lady Luck wasn't with us as the ball hit the post with Jamie unlucky with the rebound. A great effort today we need more like this please.

Man of the Match - I can't decide difficult to choose between James, Eddie, Matthew and again Jasper

Next game - Alderbury at home on Sunday 17th March, kick off 10.00am
