U9 Division 1: CCCFC Whites 0 Trowbridge Town Lions 0 Print
Season 12/13 - Under 9 Black & White

There was nothing to separate the Whites and Trowbridge Town Lions in their third meeting in the space of six weeks.
Just as in the titanic League Cup semi-final between the sides before Easter, neither defence was breached in 40 highly competitive minutes involving two well-matched sides.
The Colts again looked a better team before the break than after it but were unable to break down a solid and composed Trowbridge defence and rarely tested the visiting keeper.
Luke anchored the midfield well in the first period and Tom’s high-energy performance on the right wing kept the home side on the front foot.
Josh and Brandon formed a reliable partnership in front of the excellent Max, who showed great awareness to race off his line and mop up the danger on a couple of occasions and fully deserved his clean sheet. Town played some good football, however, and went closest to breaking the deadlock when a looping header came back off the Colts’ crossbar.
Elsewhere in the home line-up, Matthew grafted away in the engine room despite feeling under the weather and linked the play well in attack with some astute passing. Bradley’s dribbling ability worried the Town defence and he crashed a rising late drive into the side-netting, while George also posed a threat with a couple of second-half efforts on goal.
