U12 CCCFC 7 Westbury Tigers 0 |
Season 12/13 - Under 12 |
The colts returned to the football pitch after the Easter break with an emphatic victory vs Westbury Tigers on a sunny spring morning. The first 15mins were very scrappy from both sides, eventually the colts began to find their feet and started to pass the ball with more confidence, the first goal arrived when Eddie slotted home from close range after Jamie's attempt had been saved. The second soon followed when Eddie raced onto a through ball and finished with a terrific shot. Archie went close, but his header was just wide. 2-0 at halftime. The cobwebs had now been blown away as the colts came out all guns blazing in the 2nd half, Eddie scored the 3rd and his hatrick as he chased a long goal kick from Jasper, he out paced the Westbury defenders and then easily finished past the keeper, there was now some good passing football being played and the goals started to flow. James came off the bench and scored a good header with his first touch, the 5th was a fantastic strike again from James that soared into the top left hand corner of the net giving the keeper no chance, Jamie had a terrific 2nd half and his hard work paid off as robbed a Westbury defender to score the 6th, he was also really unlucky not to score again as his perfect lob over the keeper somehow managed to bounce over the crossbar, Tom L had a great chance to get on the score sheet, but was unable to find a way past the goalie, Dan was pushed into midfield for the last 10mins and he scored the 7th with a well executed shot from distance after the Westbury keeper was left stranded and out of position. This was also the first clean sheet of the season so well done to Jasper and the defence who to be honest never looked like conceding. Man of the Match: Eddie - got the game and team going with the first 3 goals. Next game: Chippenham Town at home on Sunday 14th April. Ko 10.30am
