U12 CCCFC 4 Chipp Town 2 Print
Season 12/13 - Under 12

The colts continued where they left off last week with a performance full of energy and great commitment against a good Chippenham Town team who only had 1 defeat to date.

With both sets of players knowing each other well it was important to get off to a good start and it was on 6mins that the colts took the lead when the Chippenham keeper parried a shot into the path of Archie who made no mistake by finishing well. Chippenham fought back and grabbed an equaliser from a tight angle on the one occasion the defence were a little slow to react. There was some hard but fair tackling going on in the midfield areas with James leading by example. 1-1 at half time.

it was more of the same in the 2nd half with the colts showing a fantastic determined attitude, a long goal kick from Jasper allowed Matthew to react quicker than the Chippenham defence to slot the ball past the keepers near post to give us the lead, James extended the lead with a great shot from the edge of the box that looped high over the keeper into the left hand corner of the goal. Again Chippenham would not let us relax as they scored a second with a terrific bullet header that gave Jasper no chance. However Archie, who was having his best game of the season, had the final say in the match when a long throw from Eddie eluded everyone except Archie who tucked away his 2nd and the colts 4th goal. A fantastic performance from all.

Man of the match: Great efforts from Matthew and Archie, but James gets the nod with a superb midfield performance.

Next Game: Amesbury at home on Sunday 21st April 10.30am ko.
