The Blacks can feel proud of their efforts after going down to a Bradford Town Tigers side who were crowned Division 5 champions as a result of their victory.
How the high-flying visitors managed to keep a clean sheet in the face of mounting Colts pressure after the break remains a mystery, but they certainly showed the home side how to finish at the other end as three crisp efforts earned them the points.
Luke, Brandon, James and Luca pushed forward with real menace for the home side and all could have got their names on the scoresheet with a bit more luck. Caleb also worked hard in attack, linking the play well, and was inches away from converting Luca’s low cross.
 Behind them, captain Will was exemplary at the back and produced a number of great clearances, while Rowan’s tough tackling and determination was a real feature of the second half. He and Kyron showed their versatility by sharing the goalkeeping duties but the sterling efforts of the six outfield players meant neither was kept too busy.
The Colts can take great heart from such a good performance against the division’s best side and have every chance of finishing their season on a high.
