U12 CCCFC 2 Alderbury 1 |
Season 12/13 - Under 12 |
What a result, what a game especially after last weekends showing. The colts produced a performance full of energy, commitment, desire and excellent football, why we only do it against the better teams baffles this coach!! The first 15mins were excellent with everyone playing their part. Matthew was once again terrorising the fullback and whipping in some terrific crosses. Eddie had an early chance, but his shot went wide, Alex went close with a great header from a Dan corner and the keeper made an excellent save from Jame's fine left foot shot from distance. Although we had the better start the defence still had to be on their toes to limit the Alderbury chances, Alex & Jacob in particular were excellent today. 0-0 at halftime. I wanted more of the same in the 2nd half and that was exactly what I got, however it was Alderbury, against the run of the play that struck first on 45mins, it was the final 15mins that pleased me the most as we kept our heads up after this set back and continued to push forward, Tom L forced the keeper into a hurried save with good shot, Eddie unlucky with the follow up. Dan & Eddie were forming a good partnership up front and were causing the Alderbury defence many problems, Jamie was having his best game of the season in midfield. It was good run from Dan that created the equaliser, his run and subsequent shot was deflected to the edge of the box, fortunately it fell to Eddie who struck a terrific shot into the top right hand corner. A winning goal was definately on the cards now and sure enough it came with 5mins remaining, with Eddie showing great tenacity and strength to win the ball and then go past the keeper and finish with his left foot. Man of the match: Difficult decision with so many good performances from Alex, Dan, Eddie, Matthew and many others, however it goes to JAMIE for a fantastic display in midfield. Well done Last game of the season: Westbury Tigers away on Sunday 5th May kick off 10.45am. |
