U13 Corsham 2 CCCFC 1 Print
Season 13/14 - Under 13

A very strong wind made the game this afternoon a bit scrappy at times, we played with wind and down the slope in the first half, but unfortunately some of our passing was a bit wayward at times and we couldn't create any clear cut chances. 0-0 at half time.

In the 2nd half we played much better, the passing was shorter, quicker and more accurate, however it was Corsham who took the lead when a forward found himself 1 on 1 with Jasper and calmly slotted the ball Into the goal. The colts responded well to this set back. A fine ball into space behind the Corsham defence allowed Eddie to use his pace and then lob the keeper with an excellent finish to level the scores. I thought a draw would have been a fair result, but Corsham had the final say when again they scored on the counter attack with only a few minutes remaining, there was one final opportunity to grab another equaliser with the last shot of the game from Eddie but it just went the wrong side of the post. A good effort from all, special mention to Tom Templeton who had a terrific debut and showed some of the other players how to commit to a tackle.

Man of the match: Alex Jefferies - calm & assured in defence.

Next game: Amesbury (home) Sept 22nd 2pm kick off
